CINEWORLD Has Not Yet Decided To Close Its Doors – Let’s Encourage Them To Stay Open

#AlitaArmy – it’s worth a try to email Cineworld (customer.services@cineworld.co.uk) and ask them to remain open to re-release Alita: Battle Angel. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take! Do it for Alita!

Also, let Cineworld know in this thread that you want them to stay open!

We are a community of Alita: Battle Angel fans who are dedicated to supporting Alita and Rosa Salazar POSITIVELY. If you want to help Alita get a sequel, the best way to do it is to be vocal, be active, and be positive. Being respectful to other fans and fan bases while using the "#AlitaArmy" hashtag will do #AlitaBattleAngel a lot of good. Alita needs us. We are all she's had for support.

  1. Would be great if the AlitaArmy in the UK could make a difference. But I’m afraid, Cineworld cannot be rescued by one movie, or the fan base of one movie.
It’s all so sad. Governments all over the world fail horribly. A pandemic is a STOP signal to society, hence business. A case our economic system isn’t set up for at all. We’d need a partial financial moratorium all over the world, state support for businesses, and universal basic income for people to keep things afloat. But such reasonable things are “devil’s stuff” in our capitalistic playbook.

    1. A few days ago I read on Foreign Affairs: ‘Capitalism After the Pandemic – Getting the Recovery Right’ by Mariana Mazzucato. Very insightful article!

Basically, it says that the chance was squandered to change certain things after the financial crisis in 2008/09 and the world went back to “business as usual” after its recovery. Now, 12 years later the problems are even bigger.

Hopefully, governments around the world or certain “people in charge” are smarter this time.

  2. Hey Marco. This is a very good article, and I take the liberty to link it here. I know, we are only here for the girl, but please AlitaArmy, forgive me.

I disagree only on a few points where I think Mariana Mazzucato is a bit too optimistic. For instance in what PPP is doing and can achieve. Here in Germany, PPP is just a way to rob people blank.

I think we already have the answer. Germany constantly gets praise it doesn’t deserve. Each and every government fails in treating the pandemic realistically. The deeper consequences shake our system to the core – something no average 4-years-politician is willing to face.
Not to get too cynical but frankly, I have given up. We need to completely re-invent our lifestyle and how to do things. Like *everything*. And this will never happen, hence the catastrophe is real. I just wish there’ll be a Alita trilogy out before everything is going to dust.
