“According to our sources – the same ones who told us a Percy Jackson TV show is in the works and that live-action remakes of Robin Hood and Bambi are in development, all of which were correct – the studio are now reportedly considering green-lighting an Alita sequel. The higher-ups have noticed both the strong home video sales and a passionate fanbase that’s only getting bigger, which has led to discussions behind the scenes on returning to the 26th Century for another outing.”

OMG *fainting away*
I know rumour and stuff…. still !!! *Gasping for air*
Oooooookay, …….
Dear folks at Disney,
People and businesses are going through rough times as is Disney, reportedly. You are experts in doing all those calculations, but from the outside ALITA 2 will maybe cost less than part 1 as a (partly) reusable setup is already build and Alita’s CGI is already developed. Regarding revenues you can expect not only a (still vastly growing) fanbase to show up (multiple times!) but tons of friends and family members of us as well. ALITA has managed to grow a splendid reputation (after that initial dreadful pitching against Captain Marvel –entertaining movie, btw). In 2019 the movie went unnoticed by many people potentially interested in the genre (such as myself). This will NOT happen with ALITA 2 which will catch all the spotlight! Expect revenues of at least USD 600 Mio. (Easily –no question.)
This will probably be more profitable than a TV show. Blue Ray/DVD sales of a silverscreen movie will again highly add to the profit margin, something that will not happen with a TV show.
Again, thanks Disney for giving this a serious thought. You won’t regret it –in terms of revenues (when realized) and a ever thankful fanbase –As a side note, all of this could mark the beginning of a healing process between Disney and those turning their backs after all that flubbed communication (after STAR WARS 8) –just use 20th Century Studios (with an artist centered / more experimental focus) as a channel to re-establish a connection with those who feel jilted after that detrimental communication (on both sides). (Just my 2 cents.)
Cheers!

They would be fools to not try again.

I think we should try another twitter campaign in the coming weeks, if this is true it could show the fanbase is still there and still eager for news.
