Alita Anniversary Mass Tweet Event On February 13!

We normally do this every year on February 14 but this year we have our #GiveAlitaHerSequel banner flying on the 13th so it’s best to make that the day we also celebrate our 3rd #AlitaAnniversary.

Please join @AlitaArmy on Twitter for a day of tweeting out our desire for an Alita sequel on Feb 13!

Use “#GiveAlitaHerSequel” in your tweets. There’s no formal start time but we plan to tweet out a reminder at 7:00 am EST on Sunday. This is a relaxed event so tweet at your leisure. If we’re fortunate enough to trend, that would be great, but it’s not a loss if we don’t trend. Thanks and see you on Super Bowl Sunday!

#GiveAlitaHerSequel Banner Campaign Update: We’re Fully Funded!

We’ve raised the remaining funds needed for the child selected by Open Bionics to get their needed Hero Arm package and to pay for their clinic visits.

From @dennis_won:

We did it! I want to thank each and every one of you, from the one who shared the campaign to all the generous donors. All of us have contributed to changing a child’s life for the better. We have made a difference. Thank you. #AlitaArmy #GiveAlitaHerSequel

Campaign Update: We’re Less Than $4,000 Away From Our Final Goal

Our current total is $8,970. We’re making great progress and we still have until our February 13 deadline to reach our $12,641 goal. Thanks to a number of large donations over $1,000 each (wow!), we feel confident that we will reach our goal. Some of those who made – and will make – large donations would rather remain anonymous but they’re identities are known to us and we thank them!

Thanks to great ideas like the one from @AlitaRave above, we’re getting even closer to our final funding goal and that will allow us to cover all the expenses for the child selected by Open Bionics to receive a prosthetic arm. His idea to do matching donations will likely encourage even more people to donate. If you would like to give something, you can donate at the link below. Thank you in advance.

Campaign Update – “#GiveAlitaHerSequel” 2022 Super Bowl Banner

We’ve reached our first goal – huzzah! But we’re not done yet. We’d like to reach our second goal of funding completely the expenses for a child receiving a prosthetic arm from Open Bionics by February 13. It would be an amazing and heartwarming accomplishment for us to be able pay those costs. So, if you haven’t donated yet, please do so. If you have donated but would like to contribute again, you’re welcome to add more.

“#GiveAlitaHerSequel” 2022 Super Bowl Banner

WHAT WE WANT: The Alita Army wants to fly a banner that reads “#GiveAlitaHerSequel #AlitaArmy” over the parking lot of SoFi Stadium before the 2022 Super Bowl on February 13. We hope that this event will help us to make the Disney executives aware of the interest and desire that exists for an Alita: Battle Angel film sequel. We have been successful in 2020 with reaching the film makers this way and they have responded by thanking us and encouraging us to continue campaigning for a sequel. Two years later, we know that important talks at the studio for a sequel will begin again and we want to give the director Robert Rodriguez a boost through this banner event.

WHAT WE REQUIRE: The cost of a four hour flight above the stadium parking lot will be $3,200 and our first deadline is January 26. Once we have that, we will pay the pilot. The fundraiser will continue to take donations until February 13. This is for a few reasons: First, whenever campaigns get funded quickly, many people regret not being in-time to contribute to the cause. By continuing to take donations, everyone can feel like they contributed. Second, as with our past campaigns, the additional donations can be used to help someone in need. That’s where one of our past campaigns comes into play again. In 2020, when we flew our first banner, we donated the extra money we raised to Open Bionics (a prosthetic arm developer) in order so that a young person in need of a “Hero Arm” could receive one. While the funds we raised went a long way to making it possible, the unfortunate thing is that there are still hurdles for the patient that Open Bionics selected to overcome. There are expenses for clinic visits, of course. And because the patient is a child, they will require refits as they grow which makes a more costly package more suitable for them. They’re looking at an additional $9,441 in needed funding; we would like to fund as much of that as we possibly can by February 13 when we plan to end the fundraiser.

WHO WE ARE: The Alita Army is a community of Alita: Battle Angel fans who are dedicated to campaigning for a sequel to the 2019 film. We believe that supporting the film and promoting it positively is the best method of helping more people to discover Alita and convincing Disney to green-light a sequel.

If you would like to donate, please do so at the fundraiser page HERE.

UPDATE: The banner has flown and the campaign has ended. Thank you.
